SAVOY FAMILY CAJUN BAND

We've been after the legendary Savoy Family Cajun Band - the greatest traditional Cajun band in the world - for years and got close when Wilson Savoy came here in 2007 with his sensational band THE PINE LEAF BOYS. Our patience has finally been rewarded with the arrival from Eunice, Louisiana, of the full stellar line-up of Marc (accordion), wife Ann (guitar), and sons Joel (fiddle/guitar) and Wilson (piano/fiddle) - each one of them superstars of the genre. The Savoy family have played at Presidential inaugurations, the Newport Folk Festival, the JFK Center in Washington DC, the QEH in London, at festivals all over North America and right round the world...so it was kind of inevitable they would one day play The Band Room!

An introduction is hardly necessary but individually and collectively the SFCB has links to Cajun greats DENNIS McGEE, DEWEY BALFA, MICHAEL DOUCET, D L MENARD and STEVE RILEY, as well as LINDA RONSTADT, JOHN FOGERTY, NICK LOWE, T-BONE BURNETT and many more...Ann also excels in her wonderful all-woman band THE MAGNOLIA SISTERS!
